Paul-William Mawhinney was born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia where he began his studies in the performing arts. In  2002 he completed his first BA, with a double major in Drama Theory and Cinema Studies from Flinders University. In 2005 he was accepted into the illustrious Australian National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney where he completed his Bachelor of Dramatic Arts in 2007.  

 

Paul-William has been working as a professional actor since 1999 and his career has included work in Theatre, Film, Television, Voice-overs and Performance Capture for Video Games and Animation. In 2006 Paul-William began to turn his hand to teaching and has since taught children, teens and adults’ classes, for all ability levels, at some of the most prestigious and well established arts training institutions all across Australia and the UK, including; Drama Studio London, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, NIDA’s Open Program, Sydney Theatre Company’s Education Department, Sydney University, the Australian Theatre For Young People (ATYP) and Brent Street Studios.

Since moving to London in 2015, Paul-William has performed in two critically acclaimed theatre productions, "Ride" by Jane Bodie for the Camden Fringe Festival and "Cosi" by Louis Nowra at the King's Head Theatre.

 

He has also performed in numerous AAA video game titles and animations as a Performance Capture and Voice-Over Artist, appearing in Codemasters "F1" franchise as Carl Miller the chief engineer. 

 

Paul-William Mawhinney is currently based in London, UK. He has a valid UK/EU passport and dual citizenship with Australia.

 

He is a proud member of the British professional performers union, Equity.
